Tattoos and pregnancy?

So I want a hip tattoo but a lot of people have told me to wait till after I have kids bc when my stomach grows it will stretch the tattoo. But ive also been told from a few people it doesn't. Has this happen to anyone?

My butterfly hip tattoo is now a dragon.. I would wait until you're finished having children.. And if your mother did/didn't have stretch marks has nothing to do with you. My mother and grandmother didn't and I did!

I have a large tattoo on my hip and I survived a pregnancy and I'm pregnant with my second and it still looks the same.

I got a tattoo of a star on my his when I was 18 and this is what pregnancy did to it. It doesn't bother me since that is no longer a part of my body I "show off"

If you get stretch marks, it can ruin it, but it's really up to you. I've been talking to my artist about it a lot because I'm in the middle of a large piece that will wrap around and debating if I want to wait or not.

I would ask your mom if she has stretch marks, if she does chances are you will to if you have children.  If not go for it.  I have two tattoos one on each hip. I made sure mine are low enough and to the side enough that they really won't be bothered when I have kids. Besides even if you need up with a few stretch marks through your tattoo you'll be so Happy with your baby that it won't matter. Good luck!!!

I got a small rib tattoo. Was not affected. Though I'm sure the hip will be. People are right. Wait on the hip. But a rib, shoulder, even a foot or leg tattoo would be somewhat safe zone.
