Which birth control are you on?

I'm looking for a new BC because my nexplanon implant is causing a lot of irregular bleeding. I've been reading up on birth control and I think my best option is the patch.

So, what are you on and what has been your experience so far?

Ive been on the pill for 3 years. The only problem I've had with it is forgetting to take it.  I would not take it for 3 days and then my period would start. This happened 3 times in one month. Otherwise i love the pill. It also helped me have a sense of when im supposed to get it (if i took it on time). It also made the flow less heavy and less painful as well.

Depo didn't work for my mom, That's where my brother came from.

I tried Depo for 4 years , they shouldn't stay on it more than 2 yrs does damage to your bones (which is true!) loved it because anyone I had sex with always wanted to have babies lol (& I'm baby free to this day) but the weight gain can put stress on you . I've tried the patch for one year until the patch started drying out my skin in the spot it was in (took almost a year to get back normal) now I'm on the implant been on it for 6 years which means this is my second go round debating on if I should try it again because that'll be nine years but the plus the 4 years before I want to have babies one day I don't want to ruin my natural body

I've tried the depo and loved it, tried the patch it was OK til they wouldn't stick anymore. ( seriously, I would clean the spot to put it on let the spot dry and put the patch on, the next day it'd be on my shirt or my pants) so then I switched to the pill. Which worked too. Right now I'm not on anything. And have been off bc for almost a yr now and nothings happened. So it really depends on your body. The depo is great if you have excruciating pain while on your period

I take tri-sprintec, a 28 day cycle. And it's kept me regular for over 4 years. I didn't see any weight gain that was caused by the pill(it was all me) and while still on the pill now I've been able to lose weight.

Although my periods are regulated, and last around 3-4 days, I do have a bad one every few months. Heavy bleeding, bad cramps, etc. But the same thing happened to my mother when she was on the pill at my age. Having that one bad week is better than having a bad week every month.

My husband had a vasectomy so I no longer use anything. Before that I was on Norplant when it was good for 5years then I stopped that because we wanted one more child before he had the vasectomy. After I had my daughter I used an IUD I think it was the marina or something like that. I have used the pill, depo, Norplant, and IUD for birth control and I hated the pill because I would forget to take it and the depo caused weight gain like crazy, Norplant was ok but my OB suggested I use the IUD and it was better then the others. I would talk to your doctor about what's going on with the implant and see what they think about going to the IUD.
