Confused

Can you have period twice in one month?I came on at start off month on for 4 days my usual but then I came on again 2 weeks after for 4 days again,very confused last night and today I've had a really bad pain in my stomach at bottom on my left side not sure why it just happened suddenly,my periods are always regular  but this month I came on twice I'm so confused :(
