Seeing stars???

Hey everyone!  I'm 30 weeks 3 days (2nd baby) & randomly see stars.  There doesn't seem to be a real pattern other than more frequent in the car and when I turn my head to look at something & turn back.  Not sure if it's a blood pressure issue.  I'll mention it to my midwife next appt but wondering if anyone else has had this?

I'd go see your doctor ASAP. My sister recently had preaclampsia and while she was hospitalized the doctors asked her every hour if she was seeing stars. Could be totally unrelated but better safe than sorry.

I have also been seeing stars. About 4 times in 2 weeks. I called my Dr and they brought me into check blood pressure & do a urine test for high level of protein. All checked out ok. I have a lot of swelling going on right now too. Had headache a couple days ago. So I'm keeping an eye on things. My next check up is next week.

Did you learn anything from your midwife?

I think you should call your midwife... Vision changes can indicate unsafe changes in blood pressure. Do you get frequent headaches or has your weight suddenly fluctuated? It would be worth the call to hear it's nothing and definitely something that could be important for your midwife to know.

Before I was pregnant I would get that sometimes, only once was it really bad, I got up from a chair and immediately began seeing extremely bright pricks lf light that did not go away, even with eyes closed, for about five minutes...how bright are they, and do they go away pretty quickly? I have floaters in my eyes that look like dark spots in my vision and when I turn my head or am in the car I see them, but they're harmless. That other experience was really strange though...which does yours feel like?

I'm not a nurse or doctor by any means. I got up too fast and I see stars, I move normal rate and randomly feel dizzy. I would say a good chance it's blood pressure. Mine is really low, aside from when I'm stressed. Maybe slow down and take things a little easier. Definitely talk to your doctor. Good luck!
