Proper tampon usage?

Question

I have two questions. I've heard some people say they flush their tampons, and I personally do, but is it ok to do so? Also, is it better to take a tampon out while you shower, or if you just put a fresh one in without thinking does it really make a difference? Thanks ladies!

I flush tampons. I've done it ever since I've had my period and never had a problem but it can clog your pipes if you have an old house.

Honestly I'm not about to get my hands messy with trying to wrap up my bloody tampon in some toilet paper to throw out and then have it stink up the bathroom, it's gross. Way better to just pull the string and be done with it.

Now with the shower thing I don't really understand your question but I take out my tampon before I take a shower and put a new one in after I get out.

I live on a well system so I can't flush them. If you live in a city, you can flush tampons. There's nothing wrong with it. Sometimes it's easier to just flush. It's embarrassing when you gotta bring a bag with you every time you gotta use the bathroom here

I personally don't flush my tampons, but I know several people who do, I don't think there's anything wrong with it, unless it clogs your toilet haha. And as for showering, I always take my tampon out, I don't feel as clean if I leave it in while showering, but it's just personal preference

It's bad for the septic tank or whatever if you flush the tampons. When I lived in a house, I threw them in a trash can, but now I live in an apartment, and I flush them. It's really up to you if you wear them in the shower or not. I personally, take it out before I get in the shower and then put a fresh one in when I get out.
