Chlamydia

I tested positive for chlamydia, I've been with my boyfriend for 6 years and he was a bit promiscuous before me. I tested right when we started dating and it came back negative. I assumed I caught it from him because I haven't cheated, but he then tested and everything came back negative! How is this even possible!?!?!
