Infertility problems?

Birth control for months and every test I take still comes back negative. I know I should probably get test strips to see when I'm ovulation because my period is extremely irregular. In the past I had an ectopic pregnancy, when my pill was inactive due to antibiotics so I know I'm very fertile lol. I didn't even want kids until that instance, but now I'm left wondering because if I find out he isn't fertile I don't know how to be ok with that. I know he wants the same thing and he's disappointed everytime I take a negative test. Yes I love him, but I can't think of anyway around this. I'm scared I'll be left feeling differently knowing he can't give me what I want overall which is a family.. And I'm scared to even ask him to take a test because I don't want to offend him, and I'm kind of scared to hear the answer I don't want. Anyone go through something similar or have any advice?
