Puzzled Mom?!

Question

Okay so I have a 5 year old and I still give her baths. My question is when do you start letting your kids take their own baths? I just really feel that she isn't ready at her age because she is not going to clean herself as good as I will....

I was a nanny for twins from 5 until about 8 years old. The parents did partial baths. I would wash hair or step in if they weren't washing correctly/enough. In general they were responsible for being able to put soap on the wash clothes and complete a basic rub down.

My daughyer is 61/2 she recentley started showering by her self..i do watch her wash and condition her hair but she fully washes her body.

My son has been taking his own showers (not baths, I was afraid to leave him alone in a bath) since her was 3 and a half. He's super independent. I have to smell his hair and look at his fingernails when he gets out though to make sure he's cleaned himself.  I let him brush hisown teeth too but I go over them again when he's done.

I still supervise my 8yr old & 6yr old, more so my daughter because of her hair but they do the washing themselves in the shower cuz they hate baths, weird I know. I stopped doing it for them at about 5 or 6.
