Pregnant pescatarian/vegetarian?

Is anyone else pregnant and a pescatarian/vegetarian? I'm wondering if anyone would have any tips on pregnancy nutrition for those that don't eat meat.

Thank you all! I don't do much dairy at all so I probably need to work on my calcium intake, but in general I eat a very healthy diet. My prenatal is specifically formulated with extra iron, but I'm sure I need more B vitamins. Thanks again everyone!

Just like everyone else, make sure you're getting a sufficient amount of protein, iron, and calcium (not sure if you eat dairy). As someone already said, you'll need a B12 supplement or B12-fortified foods. I've been a vegan for almost four years and I've never had a problem getting what I was supposed to- including during my pregnancy. Eat a varied diet and you should fine!

The biggest thing is to make sure you are getting B12 as there is not a plant based source for it. You'll have to supplement. Americans typically get plenty of protein so that shouldn't be an issue with options like nuts/seeds, eggs (for some vegetarians), beans, quinoa, etc.

Because you eat fish, you have more options as well! :) Get some iron rich foods in there or make tomato sauce in a cast iron skillet!
