Induction????

Question

When going in for an induction how soon do they give you the medicine to jump start labor? Mines is scheduled for May13th at 8pm but I don't want my baby born on friday the 13th 😣😣😣😟😤

Every woman is different of course. I checked in at 5p. I was given the cerividal (meant to soften your cervix) at 730p. That was supposed to stay in for 12 hours. It sent me into full blown labor. My contractions started almost immediately. My water broke at 12a so they removed the cervidal.  He was here at 1:14am. Never needed pitocin or anything.

are you dilated any? & from my experience when i went in at 8pm it was to monitor me to 5am then they started the meds to kick start labor and by 1pm i had my first son.

In my experience they give you something to soften cervix first before (leave it in for like 8 hrs) and then they start pitocin. You cld be in labor for hours before baby is born either way

It depends but ditto on the monitoring first. When I got induced with my first, I was dilating and contracting on my own so even though I was there from 7p they didn't give me the pitocin until 4a the next day. Guess I wasn't dilating fast enough for them

In my experience with all 4 of mine, they started pitocin 2 hours after I had been checked in. I alwaya went between 5am and 8am.
