Baby "drop" in third trimester?

So this week I've been having weird baby movements right in my pubic bone area. I can't tell what kind of movements they could be from the baby, but I know its my son moving. The movements feel very similar to heavy grumblings one gets when they are hungry. They are constant but then they stop and suddenly I can feel more normal movements. I looked online, said it could mean the baby has descended down and its the head of the baby moving. I was wondering if anyone who knows when their baby has finally shifted downward, if these are the kinds of movements you feel? They aren't painful, just really strange lol.
