How to deal with cluster feeding?!

I'm a FTM and the little guy is just 5 days old. He is on a schedule where he cluster feeds on and off 20 minute cycles, almost like clock work from 11 pm-5am. Then during the day he eats about every 90 minutes. How do you mama's get through this?!

My dd is 3 months old now.  But I remember how much I was struggling bf in the beginning. I nearly gave up! For me, I was getting annoyed of having my lo connected to me all the time. Plus pain from my nipples and c section didn't help either. And every new Momma is dying from sleep deprivation!  
My advice stick it out the cluster feeding will be over soon, your baby is growing and it's also a way for your milk supply to in increase too. I really enjoy feeding her. I am proud to say bf is one of my biggest accomplishments. 
As a ftm I had no clue how hard bf is.

I agree with the others, this phase won't last long. Even though it's no consolation right now.

I suggest getting your SO or whoever is around and can help, to take the baby during the day so you can get a nap. Just bring him to you when it's time to eat. A little shut eye will make a world of difference!

It feels like forever but it doesn't last long!! Get some good nipple cream ( I used just pure lanolin, a lifesaver ) and set up a station w snacks and water, books / tablet / Netflix. Helps if your SO is there to chat and get you what you need sometimes. You will get through this mama !!! It gets soooo much easier, I promise.
