Aspirin?

Hi guys I've had two miscarriages in a row a few months back now, I am now TTC again, but have read lots of advice that taking a low dose aspirin each day can reduce the risk of miscarriage by half, my mum was advised to take it many moon ago as she had multiple miscarriages. Just wondered if anyone else has been successful trying aspirin, thanks X

Hi there I was taking a low dose of aspirin in both my pregnancy and miscarried and my first pregnancy I didn't take aspirin and had a healthy baby which I still can't work out how that works

Definitely speak with your doctor before you start on an aspirin regimen. I took it with my last one and I still lost the baby, but the dose wasn't very high and my blood work didn't indicate a clotting disorder. They just put me on it in the hopes it might do something.

About half of miscarriages are caused by blood clots. Aspirin thins the blood but don't start an aspirin treatment (or any treatment) without consulting a doctor. The other main cause is low progesterone, which you can get a prescription for in pill or injection form.

Aspirin can be dangerous even in small doses when taken for an extended period of time. A doctor should be consulted if you are going this route. You can opt for a natural supplement such as Ovega if you think there may be a clotting problem.

My Dr is telling me this very thing I just mc and when my levels return to zero he is going to run test to see if I have a clotting disorder over had two successful pregnancys out of six..
