We will be losing our baby on Friday

Last week it was determined that my little one is incompatible with life. My babies little heart doesn't work and it has severe chromosomal problems and it's unlikely I will carry to term, if I did baby would die soon after.

We have a d&c scheduled for Thursday and Friday. I will be losing my first baby and I don't know how to prepare myself....

I will be exactly 17 weeks when the procedure takes place and I will not be able to hold my little one. I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, I don't know of knowing will make it easier or harder. Some problems were detected at 12 weeks and as such I have never even heard my baby's heart beat, I haven't felt baby move.

Any advice? Just looking for someone who has been here who can offer some wisdom.
