Did eating the placenta really work for you?

Curious to see if there are real benefits to eating the placenta after birth. I want to be as healthy as possible for my little guy so I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I just want to make sure it's worth it! Also anyone who has done it how do you recommend consuming it?
