How many months did it take to get pregnant after stopping the pill

I'm not sure how common it is that women get pregnant the first cycle after stopping the pill. I just got a negative and am a little bummed.. My family history made me believe it would happen right away (no other woman in my family had to TTC, it just happened). I will keep trying and not get discouraged. I think I just got my hopes up too high.
