Irregular Periods😩

I'm on the implant (nexplanon) and I know that irregular periods is the main side effect but, I don't know whether to stay on the implant or not as some others that take implant have had periods that last 1 month, 3 months or even a year!. Summer is coming up and I'm not in the frame of mind of putting a pad on straight after getting out of a pool, etc. What are your experiences and opinions on this?👸💗
