Second time moms!?

Question

So this is my first baby and I'm in my third trimester and I'm starting to get nervous for delivery I've asked friends who have had babies and i ask them how bad is the pain after birth and I can never get an answer I need some comfort how bad is the pain if you have an epidural does it hurt when they take your catheter out and how bad is the soreness and discomfort I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself I know everyone is different but it's still nice to know the possibilitys so please comment and give me your advise!

It doesn't hurt having a catheter out just slightly uncomfortable and as for after pain it depends if you tear and have to be stitched. It's sore and tender down there for a few days but it's not sore like you can't move or do anything I've had 2 natural births and was up and walking about within an hour or 2 😊 and if it is really sore you can always take a couple of pain relief meds

It doesn't hurt when they take it out because your still numb but after giving birth I really wasn't in pain but I was sore for two weeks. The only pain I had is when my uterus contracts and when I had to pee because I had one stitch.

I labored mostly at home which was really nice. I baked a cake and made sure my house was extra extra clean and was able to walk around and be relaxed. The pain isn’t like most pains because it’s pain on the inside I did a lot of stretching my back basically getting at a 90 degree angle... got to the hospital when my contractions were 4 minutes apart and that’s when it started to hurt. I was 2cm at arrival.. went to 3cm during the hour observation. When they said they were admitting me I begged for the epidural. My whole body was tense and I couldn’t get a good breath in because I was so tense. They put me on oxygen 🙄 and I had the best dr give me the epidural he was amazing and right after I got the shot I went straight to 9-10cm. I e never felt so good in my life. I was sooooooo relaxed. I could still walk and everything and was walking right after labor but I just left good. Birth was vaginal and a breeze and after that they put me on a very low dose Percocet and that helped a LOT after. I didn’t need the entire script but it definitely helped make the first few days pleasant. (Ps- my teeth were in a ton of pain right before my milk came in) I wish someone would have told me that was normal because I panicked a little.

I had an induced labour with hormone drip, baby turned back to back, never felt one single contraction in my stomach but the pain in my lower back was unbearable i had pethadene and wanted epidural but by that time (6 hours later) was fully dilated, pushed for 20 mins and she came, did not hurt the actual pushing just lots of pressure, felt like my bum was popping out sorry for tmi! I teared but no stitches, not sore after just swollen and felt funny when i walked as soon as my drip had finished for blood clotting, quite a traumatic long labour so cut it short lol! Good luck...

I had an epidural and I didn't feel it go in at all. I did feel the cooling sensation go down my spine when the button was pressed though, but that's not painful. I didn't feel any contractions with the epidural but I did feel the pressure (it just feels like you have to poop lol). I also did not experience the "ring of fire", thankfully! I was worried about that. 
I did tear and while my doctor was stitching me up, my epidural started to not work as well... so oww... I could feel the stitching, but my doc let me press it again so she could finish stitching me up which I appreciated. 
The after back pain from having an epidural didn't last too long for me. The spot was just sore if I slouched for too long. It only lasted maybe... two weeks? I do not experience any other back pain from having the epi.
 I also didn't feel the catheter go in or come out either.

The "down below" pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was very cautious with my movements though cuz I did tear. The third day was painful, and only because the stitches started drying out.

My labor was 12 hours at 6 hours i got an epidural honestly i didnt feel it go in after that my contractions only felt like pressure during birth i did felt what its call the ring of fire which is when the babys head its half out half in and at that point one more push and baby was out after that the pain i felt were like real bad period cramps but they were gone after a week like bleeding was. But every body its different everybody heals differently trust me the pain won't kill you and youll see that at the end its worth it.

I gave birth naturally and was walking within an hour.  It does hurt and there was discomfort after, depending on how i was sitting. I can tolerate pain pretty well so it wasnt as bad as i expected.

I've never had an epidural but ive had tqo natural births including one water birth....it feels swollen and uncomfortable down there afterwards but not sore as such x
