Scared of pregnancy, but scared of BC too!

I have a 4 month old that I had HORRIBLE hyperemesis with my whole pregnancy. I lost 30 pounds, and couldn't get out of bed for months. I CANNOT put myself through that again, but I also am at risk for taking BC because my family has a history of blood clots, and my mom had a stroke from BC. My OBGYN gave me a prescription for Norethindrone aka minipill, and said I can test the waters if I feel comfortable. I want to take it but I'm terrified of something happening from it. Thoughts/advice?
