Whooping cough is a very real and very scary disease. Everyone that will have close and a lot of contact with baby should get it. Babies can, and have, die.

Whooping cough is on the rise because of the anti-vaccination group.

If your parents and in laws are going to be around baby a lot, let them though it's important to get the shot as well.

When the flu vaccine is available for next season, everyone close to baby should get it.

Absolutely. Pertussis is deadly for babies. Not only do you want it, but try to eliminate a lot of visitors in the first 8 weeks when the baby is most vulnerable. If s/he gets a fever in the first 8 weeks, you will need to bring the baby to the hospital for a spinal tap. No thanks. Il save my baby that stress.

Yes definitely get it! I got it. It's just a shot. You'll be protected and so will your baby. I've heard a baby that had whooping cough and it broke my heart. Definitely get any vaccines you can! It's better to be protected

I chose to get it. Babies aren't born with much of an immune system so if I can do something to give her a boost I absolutely will.

They advise it with every pregnancy at 36 weeks even if you had one and got pregnant right after baby was born. 36 weeks is a good time to get it because it sticks with the newborn baby for a month or two until its time for your baby's shots.

I was concerned with whooping cough and didn't want any chance of my LO getting it.

Make sure you check with your PCP as well. Turns out I got my TDAP back in 2010 and its good for 10 years. So now I have to talk to my OB to make sure that I dont get a double dose!
