My son was due June, 12th but was born May 15th at 36weeks 0days. With babies born premature at 36 weeks, sometimes they are ready, sometimes they aren't. My son's lungs were unfortunately not developed fully and partially collapsed. He now has a hole in his lower right lung. We haven't gotten to hold him yet. He is a premie, but you wouldn't know it to look at him. He was born 7lbs and 18.5 inches long, my grandma kept telling me he couldn't be a premie because of his size. Everyone keeps asking when they get to hold him/see him. I feel overwhelmed. They don't understand. His skin is delicate and can tear. We can't hold him. I can't nurse him. Everyday has been taken with a one step at a time approach. I just realized I have no clue if he'll need special care after discharge. Anyone have any advice?
