GD. Should I be worried?

Question

I just learned I have gestational diabetes, I have been keeping track of my blood glucose level and it is always high. Highlighter in oranges are high, in green is right there on the limit. My doctor said if I cannot control my sugar with diet, I will take medicine for it.

What kind medicine is used to stablish glucose?

What I'm doing wrong on my diet?

I was just diagnosed with GD myself and pick up my monitoring supplies tomorrow. Only suggestion would be the yogurts maybe? I know yogurt while healthy has a lot of sugar and my dr recommended as many lean proteins and veggies as possible. They are also sending me to a nutritionist. Did they offer that to you?

I've had GD twice. Your diet looks fine, the only thing I saw potentially not good was granola and yogurt and I think berries, a lot of yogurt and granola are high in sugar, and I couldn't eat fruit with my snack, only with lunch as my only carb. The carb count on your snacks and breakfast should total up to 10% or less except lunch and dinner can be a little higher if you have more protein. Yogurt alone can come lose to that because they add sugars to it. Make sure you eat a protein plus low carb snack before dinner or it can mess with your fasting read. It took me about 4 or 5 days of dieting to stabilize my sugars and figure out my trigger foods (e.g. I couldn't even eat 10 raisins). I was able to control by diet alone, but if your case is more severe the medication is safe. It isn't your fault, blame it on your pancreas plus hormones lol

My son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes 11 years ago. That was actually helpful because due to bed rest with my daughter I ended up having gestational diabetes. But it gave me a lot of insight on how to manage things thru diet. 
Your diet looks pretty good. Sometimes your body just requires a little help. 
You could try cottage cheese instead of yogurt. (It's technically a "free food". That's anything with less than 5 carbs per serving).

Also, it seems like a radical idea, but ditch the grains/starches or at least limit them. We started doing this and it's helped our whole family including our son (his #'s are running great). 
We did this under advice from our doc. He said grains/starches gum up the system and our bodies can't process them which in turn causes crazy things like high blood sugars  difficulty losing weight. 
We use flax as an alternative and occasionally  we use a gluten free flour.

Usually they give you insulin for gestanial diabetes since it's safer then oral (usually).

I think thats a very good diet! I had previous gestational diabetes, food controlled, carbs and sugar made my bm high i was induced at 38 weeks due to rising bm levels. Exercise is best after a meal too. They use metformin for it or if that does not work insulin. Hope it does not come to that for you good luck!
