Boy name?

We've decided on a name for a boy, but running it past a few people I'm getting a lot of negative feed back. What do you think of the name Thatcher for a boy?

My nephews name is thatcher and I'll admit I didn't love it at first but it has definitely grown on me and fits him well.

I just saw on the Onion a video making fun of hipster naming trends.  One of the categories was "jobs that don't exist anymore" you know like Miller, Cooper, etc.  Thatcher definitely fits in with that trend!  Also last names as first names.  I think it's cute though!  Do you live in the U.S.?  In the U.K. it might make people think of the former prime minister who was not universally loved.  Maybe a bit like naming an American baby Nixon (maybe more like Reagan which is actually very popular!). But if you're in the U.S., I doubt that will come to mind for most people.  Cute name!
