Smelly urine when pregnant?

I have a friend who recently just found out she is pregnant. She asked me if when I was pregnant if my urine had a weird and strong smell to it. I've never personally experienced it and told her it was probably due to her being sensitive to smells. So she took me to the bathroom and I turned my back while she peed and she was 100% right her pee smells so strange and strong!! Any one had this happen while pregnant or could it be something else?
