Is it possible??

Question

Took a clearblue easy advanced ovulation test last night 8 pm=O.  Then again today at 2 pm=SOLID SMILEY FACE.  Rechecked tonight at 10 pm with a completely newly purchased box of Clearblue easy digital (NOT ADVANCED). and low and behold it was a big fat O.  Is it really possible to have that short of a surge???  My cycle is usually 26-27 days and I am currently CD 12.  Seriously confused:(

I believe that with the digital advanced ones it's the change/rise in hormones over a few days that the test detects and gives you your smiley so the new one doesn't have a baseline to compare against. That's why is asks you to start testing so long before your surge so that it gets your proper resting levels and can then detect the gradual increase.

Agree with gunce. I would keep checking just in case. Also, it helps to look at the lines after you take the stick out of the clearblue test to confirm the result. If they're both solid blue of the same strength, you can be confident it's correct.

​I use the same tests and once had a smiley face but when I looked at the stick, one of the lines was smudged. I repeated the test a few hours later and it was negative. A few days later I go the real positive.

​2. It's equally likely to have a bad faulty test.

​This is why bbt is so important - as it confirms ovulation.

​CM is important too.
