Heart beating??

Does anyone else's heart just randomly start pounding?? I will be laying in bed trying to sleep and it feels just I just ran a mile! Happens all the time! Multiple times a day!

It's almost constant now. Whenever I drink a cold glass of water, it helps to slow it back down to normal.

Yes it used to terrify me until I had a hear monitor put on for 24 hours and saw a cardiologist and he reassured me it was fine, the extra blood flow is usually the cause. I went into that appt thinking my heart was racing (felt like it) and he listened and my heart rate was 89. He said the heart beats harder and sometimes it feels like it's beating faster. Sometimes it really is beating fast but it's the increased blood flow and even hormones sometimes. Mention it to your doc when you see him just to be sure and for peace of mind :)
