When people talk about their birth stories I notice alot of ppl talk about "labor.. Transition..pushing" what is transition?

Transition is when you are finally dilated to a 10 and baby slips down out of your cervix and deep into the birth canal and it's time to actually push.

It's such an interesting feeling. I literally had a 30 minute long contraction when I transitioned and I told the doctor I needed to push but they didn't believe me. I got them to check quick enough to catch her haha. It was accompanied by me laughing and not knowing why. Sometimes women act all crazy and you can tell they are transitioning. But I was super relaxed right after :)

Transition is actually the phase of labor when the cervix is dilating from 8cm to 10cm. Then the cervix is complete and the body moves on to the birthing phase. It's the most intense phase of labor, but also the shortest. Your contractions will be very intense and back to back, you will begin to feel pressure in your pelvis and rectum, which is the baby descending into the birth canal.
