I commented for another BFer and I'll share with you because the girl commented crying that she finally was successful! 
Nipple sandwich. 
Take your areola and grasp it in a C shape. Tickle babys mouth to open up wide. Cram as much as you can in. 
If your nipples hurt you're latch isn't right. Use lanolin (which is safe for baby) on your nipples and areolas before latching, and a little after. They'll heal right up.

I feel you! This is the hardest thing ever. I'm a little over a week and still pretty rough. Nights are the worst! Trying to tough it out as everyone swears it gets better!

If you use a nipples shield it feels better within a week & pump lots! That helped me!

Oh my god. It's the worst pain. !! I have my moments when I'm ready to quit. But I remeber its for my baby girl. But I agree it's so painful specially when it's ur first time breast feeding you don't know what to expect.

It gets better!!! Think about it, your nipples probably went from maybe 5-10 minutes of stimulation per week, now they're probably getting a whopping 5-7 HOURS PER DAY of action 😨😨😨😨 that's a BIIGGGG change. Some soreness is completely normal in the beginning. They'll get used to it and the soreness will go away almost as quickly as it came on.

I would seriously encourage you to find a la leche league meeting in your area (chances are they're probably 4-5 within driving distance). Their meetings are free of charge & the meetings are run by experienced lactation consultants who have a true passion for helping women successfully breast feed their babies. I had MANY problems when I was first starting out & there's no way I'd be successfully BFing my son (literally as i type this) if it weren't for la leche.

You can do this! The first days are the toughest but to be honest, you quickly grow to absolutely LOVE the bonding time. when my supply dropped all of the sudden & I had to bottle feed, it was absolutely heart breaking. I cried & even found D myself apologizing to my baby that I couldn't give him what he needed. It doesn't hurt at all for me any more & I feel so much closer to my baby because of it!

Try pumping to stimulate your nipples and supply also a nipple shield may help that's what worked for me and now baby girl and I are like pros from the 3rd day, if your commited to breastfeeding then give it a lil more time, you should be fine soon! Good luck.

Question- I am day 3/4 and my boobs feel painful and engorged, but when I pump it's still only the colostrum stuff coming out....

You guys go through this? It isn't relieved after pumping

I felt the same way, I'm on day 3 and my milk just came in and the pain has went down! Message them in the shower helps a lot and use nipple cream as often as possible!!

It got better for me around day 4! My nipples were so tender and so sore at first that I was convinced I was doing something wrong and it stressed me out so much. I was really good about putting lanolin on before and after every feed. I'm on day 6 now and I don't hurt anymore, just keep at it! Your nipples just need to toughen up 😊
