Babies going swimming?

So I will have my baby in July & I'm wondering how early would be okay to take her out into a lot of sun & maybe even in the water a little?

Babies are born with swimming reflexes and knowing how to hold their breath! My baby will be born in August, and we live in California. I found an instructor who will begin teaching a baby as early as 2 months, because obviously I don't want to just submerge my baby and see what happens. I'm so excited! I'd give your baby a few weeks, and use/reapply LOTS of sunscreen!

I took my son at three weeks. I think once you only swim for 20 mins and warm baby up straight away after.

I've read the sooner you let them swim the better and some babies who go early have an automatic reflex to swim and hold their breath. Obviously I wouldn't risk trying it but I've read a good few articles about it. Try Google it and see

I am constantly reading 6 months. I think once they can hold their heads up, it should be fine. They make floats for babies.

Remember they cant keep their core temp up as well as we can.. I would.just do toes if you do and keep baby out if the sun

My first was born on July 3rd 2013. Living at the time in California. It was hot and humid. Hubby and I dipped her in the pool at 10 days old. Now the pool was heated and it was covered in trees. But now my almost 3 year old won't stay out of the water. Ultimately it's up to you mama. If you feel safe holding your little one for a minute or two then go ahead and put that baby in the water.

Keep her/him very well shaded!  And make sure you put the highest sunscreen that you can find to apply on the baby. The water. I don't know about the water. Simply bc if she does not have at least her two month old shots she might be more prone to catch something in the water from other people. But then again this is your child. So do what your gut is telling you to do :)
