Is it "okay" for you to throw yourself a shower?

I know the tradition is usually someone throws it for you right? Well I see myself getting closer to my due date still needing a lot of baby stuff and no one is doing an effort to throw me one, would it be weird or bad for me to start planning  one for myself?

I say go right on ahead, I threw my own baby shower and it turned it great. . I chose to do it because I'm hella picky at the way I want things done lol

It's not weird but why isn't anyone taking the initiative ? Do u not have many close friends ? Or do they not have the budget to afford one ? I think if it's bc no one is willing to dish out money for a baby shower for u then you may end up spending a lot of money for nothing. 
Basically : use that money on the stuff you need

I don't really have family and most of my friends aren't able to do something like that. So I've been planning mine and they've been helping ...I don't see a problem

I think I'd be sort of okay to get the ball rolling and then ask someone to host it and take over for you. It would seem kind of tacky to actually host it yourself and run the show. Not to mention you shouldn't go into a baby shower to actually expect to get things your want or need. I basically got whatever the gift giver thought was cute or was useful when they had kids. I bought 90% of my baby stuff myself or got hand-me-downs. And that's with a baby shower

Nothing wrong with it! The husband and I are having it at our house for baby #2. I'm going to designate someone to do the games (Found ideas on the Internet), help me open my gifts, and put up decorations. We are getting it catered...what more is there to do?

I threw one for myself at my home after my twins were born and still in the Nicu. I see nothing wrong with it. Maybe once you get the ball rolling someone else will step up and help.

I'd rather take the money you'd spend on your own shower and put it towards things you need. I'm not having a shower, and I'm not throwing one for myself either. A few people like my mom and grandmother have been buying things here and there, so a shower really isn't necessary.

I personally find it tacky and classless to throw yourself a baby shower, it's like throwing yourself a bridal shower.
