Is it safe to start bc again?

So ive been off bc for a month now, had to wait for an appt with new dr/new insurance provider, and i was supposed to start new pack yesterday but i haven't started AF yet was supposed to come on 5/19. My husband and i had unprotected sex since then ( if we got pregnant we werent opposed to it) but i took a test and it was negative. Should i start my new pack of bc or wait until af comes?
