Perineal massage pain?

I'm trying but omg its soooo painful. To be fair my husband and I have had sex maybe 3 times in the last 6 months so that area on me has basically been untouched. The benefits seem awesome but I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong? I'm literally not putting any extra pressure down there but just having a finger in there is killer. Hurts so bad. How the hell am I going to handle birth??

Any tips any of you may have would be awesome.

Oh my god!! I thought this was a prenatal massage board with a typo so I read the comments and had to google. I am terrified, glad that is still 14 weeks away. Good luck ladies!

W my year I felt like I couldn't reach down there or figure out how rondo it so I never did!

I'm not starting the massages for a few more weeks, tried recently and I agree.. It hurts!! I'm planning to try next time after a warm bath and using more oil than last time. Goodluck!
