Tmi pic! Spotting Trouble

Last week I had a some cramping going on like the start of my period, but my period was about 17 days away. Well when I checked my cm was a lot and had traces of blood all in it. The cramping lasted a couple days but it wasn't horrible just uncomfortable. I am sexually active but I hadn't had sex a week before this, could it have effected this spotting? I'm just trying to figure out if it's something I should bring up to my doctor?
