Was it too early to test?

Alright so I had sex on November 3rd. Had bleeding on 13th to the midday of the 14th. And pinkish spotting on the 12th and 15th. My period was supposed to be the 16th and usually lasts 4 days. I had sex this past Monday. In the meantime on the day I was supposed to start my period I took a hpt and it said negative. Could it have been too early to test? Or am I really not pregnant?
