Painful IVF injections. Any advice?

I'm only on my 6th day of Lupron and it has started to be painful since day four. The first few shots were a breeze but just this morning I could feel the needle going in and it hurts. I always tell myself 'mind over body' and repeat to keep myself calm but it still hurts. Am I doing it wrong or do any of you have any useful tips to lessen the pain before I start my stims? Bigger and longer needles to come and I am nervous. Does Emla cream help? Have any of you tried Synera patch? Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks!
