Zika virus??? Anyone knows about this?

I just confirmed i am Pregnant 6 weeks 2 days this will be my 2nd baby am so excited and the same time so scared of the virus!! Im due jan 17 !! Has anyone known someone being pregnant and having zika!!????

Zika technically isn't in the US yet. Women that have it here have gotten it from traveling or from having sex with men that traveled to affected countries. That being said, however, the mosquitoes carrying the virus are expected to be here soon. Especially in southern states and high/traveled areas (Houston, Los Angeles, Miami). You should talk to your OB about concerns but there was a special on Today two days ago. They recommend pregnant women to avoid standing water, wear long sleeves and pants outside, and wear sprays with 15-30% DEET.

When I found out on Saturday that I was pregnant I did some research about the zika viruses. If you go to CDC website he gives you information on how to perfect yourself while pregnant and other members of your family. Also studies have shown that pregnant women can get it by intercourse if there partner has it. Be sure to wear condoms if your not sure if your partner has the viruses. It may or may not come to the US, but we are taking all measures to be sure I don't get it while pregnant.
