Anterior placenta..?

Question

So I was told at my appointment that I have an anterior placenta. The doctor seemed unconcerned, and assured me that everything looks great with baby, but she mentioned that I probably won't feel the baby kick as soon as I would otherwise. Can anyone who has had this tell me when you started to feel movement? I'm so anxious to feel the baby and hearing I'll have to wait longer was kind of a bummer! Is there anything else I need to know about a anterior placenta?

I found out when I was 22 weeks pregnant that I had anterior placenta and I felt my son move like two weeks later. It took longer for my husband to feel him though because with the placenta being in the front it's like a cushion between the belly and the baby. He was finally able to feel him moving when I was about 30 weeks. It's nothing to be concerned about it can't harm anything. Plus with the baby still having plenty of room to move it could always change and you won't have it anymore. I'm now 33 weeks and I feel the baby moving all the time. I felt movement around 18/19 weeks.. Like a little popping feeling.

I had an anterior placenta and felt him just as early as everyone else. I think the only difference was that I didn't feel all the smaller movements just the bigger movements that were more noticeable

I have this too, first felt baby around 2 weeks ago (am now 20+4). I only feel strong movements, not general turning over etc. Once baby is big enough we'll feel them a lot more easily, don't worry! Only thing i was told to be aware of is if you need a c section it can be awkward if placenta is where they usually cut, but they'll assess that if needed.

I was told the same thing at my 20 week appointment yesterday. I think I've felt popping just this past night maybe the beginning of the week. My Dr said it's very normal not to feel the baby kick until about 22-24 weeks with an anterior placenta because the placenta acts as a sponge and absorbs the kick of the baby especially right now when baby weighs less than 1lb. The power won't be in the kicks until about 24 weeks. I was super anxious too! But when it happens you will know :) good luck!

I'm going through the same thing.  I'm 20 weeks now and I think I've felt flutters once about 2 weeks ago. I'm bummed too, I really want to feel her moving around in there!

I have an anterior placenta this time (#3) I felt her kick at 17w. I just don't see or feel it as much on the outside this time.

I had the same with #2. I didn't feel kicks until around the 20 week mark.

I had an anterior placenta with my first, and felt movement around 17 weeks. She was a pretty active baby, and my first, so didn't have much to compare it to! It did move toward the end of my pregnancy though, which is pretty typical as I understand.

I was told at my anatomy scan that I had an anterior placenta also. That was at 19 weeks. I started feeling movement that same week, and daddy even got to feel the baby move from the outside right at 20 weeks.
