Deet and bug repellents?

Question

Does anyone know if it's safe to use bug repellents while pregnant? Seems like a silly question but Ive read some of the deet goes through the bloodstream and could reach the baby also. I've applied just a small amount on my arms since I'm wearing pants.  Advice would be great.

Safe and recommended ! I'm not sure about all brands but my doc told me to use deet.

I have an allergy to deet and deet free bug sprays don't work. I mix a cup of water with about 15 drops of peppermint oil in a spray bottle and it works more than anything I've ever done. My fiance uses it because he says it works better than actual bug spray

My OB recommend less 30% deet spray cause Zika virus. And I'm in Florida !

I would avoid deet.. all of the deet repellants I have looked at say to avoid use during pregnancy. Look in a health store or chemist for a more natural alternative.. ? Deet is nasty stuff even when you're not pregnant!

I bought some Babyganics brand bug spray from Target and used it today. It has only oils in it, and is deet free. It smelled like a citronella candle, but I felt better using it than the stuff with deet.

Deet is not safe but we found some Cutter brand bug repellent that is free of deet :)

I have been told that deet is not safe and should be avoided. My health food store sells a natural repellant which works really well. You could also try the Off Clip on which doesn't put any chemicals on your skin.
