Rocker/Glider a must have?

Question

What are your opinions on having a rocker/glider? Do you think it's a necessity or you don't care for one? I want one, and I feel like I would need it while I breast feed but don't want to spend the money if it isn't worth it.

I just got a nice glider second hand for $30 and washed the cushions.

I have a nice one and I love it! I didn't have one with my first and I wished I did. It's not absolutely necessary but really relaxing for both you and baby.

I think it's worth it. I rocked my 3 year old to sleep in it a few days ago! I guess it all depends on your baby/your preferences. I will say I didn't use it for breastfeeding as much as I thought I would but I thought it was a purchase well worth the price.

I've gone back and forth on this too, don't want to waste money. But what helped me make my decision was knowing babies go through nights crying and crying and you're having to pace the house rocking him/her. When it's 2am I would rather be rocking in a chair trying to calm them down than walking back and forth in the house.

I just have a regular chair with an ottoman

I bought a used one (looks great) and I used it the whole year while breastfeeding. I still use it for reading time, when she's sick, etc.

I will be treating myself this time around and getting a new one. I want one that glides and reclines. You have no idea how many times you'll fall asleep in a sitting position.

I didn't I only got a normal chair. And the other night whilst I was trying to rock my baby to sleep cos she's ill, I thought how nice it would be to have one so I could get a bit of rest too. But with saying that next time I still don't think I would buy one as its only the one time I've thought it in the 8months of having my baby. Xx
