Anyone in college with an infant?

Question

I just applied to college and my son is a half year old. I was wondering what the course loads for you guys were and how you handled them? What would you reccomend as far as taking classes? I'm going for dental hygiene and this is what my classes are looking like to be completed in a two year period including a summer semester.

It really depends on what benefits you receive. I'm 20, a jounior, and this is my first child. This fall I'll be taking 16 hours but half my classes are online so he will only be in daycare Tuesday's and Thursday's. I also receive financial aid and my dad is a disabled veteran so I receive veterans benefits. I don't have to work so that leave plenty of time for me to focus on my newborn and classes. My family will be 2.5 hours away but since I only have class two days a week I can go home most weekends and they're happy to help. I'm on track to graduate with a B.S. in Hospitality Administration in a year and a half.  I have a very blessed situation, without all the benefits and family support idk if I would be able to do it so easily.

Just like Emily said it all depends if you have childcare, financial aid etc etc. I have a 3 yo and am 22 week pregnant with baby #2. Thankfully I don't have to work so my focus is school and my family. I also take most of my courses online which allows me to be very flexible with my schedule. Currently I'm on track to graduate with my B.S in Criminology in 3 years vs the standard 4 years. Good luck and even if you only take a one class a semester just do it. It will help provide a better future for u and baby.

Man that just really depends on a lot of things. Childcare, work schedule, financial aid (if you get it). I'm in my masters program and I keep a full time schedule because it keeps me eligible for financial aid but I also don't work. It's really just dependent on your personal circumstances. I wouldn't go over 9 at first if you are just getting into it however.
