Should I quit my job?!

I literally got a new job as an adoption manager for a cat rescue 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. My doctor wrote me a note saying I could work as long as i don't touch poop. So I wear a mask and gloves when I have to clean one of the centers. But now the vet is saying even a scratch can hurt my baby and to leave them alone. But that would mean my job as in the means I'm using to save for my baby. Now I'm torn because if I don't work my only income is my fiancés and we would be really broke. Opinions please or advice.

Cat scratches shouldn't hurt you, I've grown up with cats my whole life, and have a 10wk old kitten who put a nasty scratch across my belly. As long as you're not allergic I wouldn't worry.

As long as you are careful, and if you do happen to get any scratches, clean them immediately, you should be fine. It's good routine to clean any scratches you may get anyways, but just be careful and clean with alcohol/peroxide. I don't think you should quit, especially if your doctor did not say anything about it.

I personally would not risk your baby. You can always find another job, although it's a lot easier said than done, I know. But it's not worth the potential harm to your baby!!

I would start looking for a new job before quitting if your finances are really tight.  Though,  your boss should be required by law to accommodate you during your pregnancy to keep you safe.

To be clear,  I'm fairly certain that the scratch warning is for bacterial infection only,  not the same as the Toxoplasmosis or whatever it's called.

Go with your gut instinct but in my personal opinion you and your baby will be fine, there is far greater risk of contracting toxoplasmosis from unwashed vegetables or gardening than from cats. I've had outdoor cats my entire life and this had never been an issue, I checked with multiple vets and doctors with my first pregnancy and they all said as long as you're not in direct contact with the poop you're all good.
