Difficulty urinating but no UTI?

So this last while I have bee having a hard time urinating. I have to concentrate super hard to urinate but it's not a steady stream. My urine comes out in spurts and I have to sit there for a few minutes while I empty my bladder. I do have 2 kidney diseases, but I'm wondering if other women have had this experience ever?

I had urinary retention that landed me in the ER. I had a mystery infection and had to get a shot in the bum. A few days later I stopped being able to urinate. When my bladder got super full, only a small amount would come out. When I went to the ER they emptied 850 ML from my bladder (1000ml = a large liter cola bottle). It ended up being due to serious constipation, but with the mystery infection going on I didn't even notice I hadn't gone for 2 weeks. However, the bladder only can hold onto so much urine without serious complications and I was getting close to serious issues. If you are having a hard time urinating you need to seek medical attention. If you cannot urinate within 12 hours you should goto the ER, at least that is what the ER doc informed me.
