Going out on disability prior to having baby?

My job is a very physical job and I work at a car dealership responsible for moving all the vehicle and what not   . I am currently 27 weeks and I can feel my body getting beat up already . By the time I leave work my feet are so swollen and my back kills me . If I got put in just light duty there would be really no point to my job . So my question is ... What stipulations do you have to have in order for your dr to take you out of work prior to having my daughter ? And I am technically not considered high risk at the moment .

It might be hard to convince your OB to give you a note to go on disability. Some are more sympathetic than others. This is not meant to be a dig in anyway... I am high risk. I've had surgery on my lumbar spine. I was pregnant with twins, lost one at 8 weeks. I'm now 24 weeks pregnant. 
My job is very physical. I work in health care. I'm always lifting people, like adults not children. I push hospital beds with people (the other day 560 lbs pt) in them. I have to get people up on their side. I do a lot of bending, twisting, and lifting. Does my back hurt? Do my feet hurt? Are my legs and ankles swollen? Hell yes! My doctor his no intentions of getting me off work until I have a baby or can't work. We had this discussion at my appointment last week. I prefer to work until I have baby. Just know that there are jobs out there, way more physical. A pregnant woman can do them just fine. Chances are your doctor has a patient just like me. Again, it's not a dig. I know everyone is different.

Yeah I would talk to HR. You are entitled to FMLA but that is total time not just time after baby. See if there is an option for light duty first unless you can afford to just have disability for a long time.

I think it depends. I'm confused on what you do? Just moving cars from one place to another? Or like mechanic type work? If you tell your doctor you're struggling I'm sure they will give you a note, but I'm not sure why you wouldn't want light duty?

If you are not able to do it that is all you need. You just tell your doctor and he should write you a note. If your job will accommodate light duty I would do that and save my time.
