Ovulation tests confuse me?!

I don't understand ovulation tests I'm 3 days after my period and it says I'm ovulating???? When yesterday I took two that said negative. Should I be ovulating this early???

Remember that that positive ov test just means an egg is getting ready to release. Technically you don't ovulate until 24-36 hours after surge.

Not ovulating... Approaching ovulation which would make sense depending on if you have an average cycle. 3 days after your period you are probably on cycle day 8-10 and would be ovulating in the next couple of days.

Neither of those look positive. Ovulation tests measure LH. You always have lh in your system but it surges about 12-36 hours BEFORE you ovulate. A positive test is when both the lines are the same darkness or darker.
