If your partner proposed and said they'd been saving up for a while and it was a pricey ring but then a while later, your finger turned green.

Honestly, he may not be lying. He could have paid for the diamond in it, and the band be cheap. Or the band may have just been plated with gold or whatever, and that could effect it. I would ask him honestly.

It's not an issue? My sister had a solid gold necklace that turned the back of her neck green and she ended up with dermatitis. It's just a reaction. Can't believe some women are so materialistic. My boyfriend can get me a ring pop for all I care, I just want to be his wife one day — doesn't true love matter more than a piece of jewellery?

Tell him about it and take it to be redipped.  Personally I don't care to much about a ring, I married my husband because of who he is not because of a ring.

I had a Tiffany's ring turn my finger green before. I literally bough it myself from the Tiffany's store and it turned my finger green. Some people just get that reaction from certain metals.

Wow I'm surprised at how materialistic some people are. It's the relationship not the ring that's important! And if your first thought on something your partner has done is that he has lied, then the colour of your finger is the least of your problems.

That's tough.... Because if he bought it somewhere other than a diamond store (like a pawn shop or something) then he might not know. Not saying that's smart, but he may have paid a lot for a fake ring and not known it. He may really want to marry you, but might have thought you'd say no if he wasn't in the position to afford a really expensive ring. You have to talk to him though, because if it's bothering you then you need answers. There could be an innocent or insecure answer. If you love him enough to want to marry him, then you owe it to yourself and him to talk about it.

I'd actually be mad that he spent money he saved on a ring, instead of something like a house for us. I don't want a ring honestly, if he absolutely wants me to wear jewelry, get me a necklace. I never take it off. 
Plus if it turns green there's a couple reasons why.
