Long distance

Hi ladies! So I'm moving away in September and my boyfriend and I will have been together for over 6 months at that point. I'm completely in love with him and he's absolutely amazing. I'll be gone for 4 years for school and he'll be finishing his degree (also 4 years) here. He's not a big believer in long distance relationships. But I really want to try. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can bring this up with him? We're both 20 by the way and in school so to travel to see eachother is going to be about 3-4 times a year due to the cost of plane flights and university.
