Hospital bag & outfits..?

how many did/are you taking with you for yourself?? I figure if you typically stay 2-3 days, do you need an outfit for everyday or do you stay in the hospital gown for the most part?

The day I delivered I stayed in my hospital gown. They brought me fresh ones and all. Later into the night after I had my son I changed into a flowy pair of pjs pants and button too, since i was breastfeeding the buttons helped. I showered and freshened up a bit, honestly that was hell and took all I had due to being sore and weak. I was only in the hospital two days so I didn't take much. So I wouldn't stress it. I would definitely take comfy stuff though and nothing to restricting. And as someone else mentioned dark colors for the bottom are better, the bleeding is intense and lord knows what you can expect. I packed a nightie, a few dark colored flowy dresses, and leggings/tanks. You are welcome to stay in a hospital gown as long as you want (they will bring fresh irks after your delivery)- I just wanted to feel more like myself. Pack dark colors- the bleeding at the beginning can be kind of intense.

You stay in the hospital gown. You're going to be sore from delivering a baby into this world. The last thing on your mind is putting on regular clothes. Plus you'll be too sore to be able to wear them just yet. Pack light clothes that are breathable. Like a maxi skirt to help your private part breathe or your abdomen if you plan on having a Cesarean. You need to give your body room to breathe from the labor you go through. Nothing tight basically. I packed a maxi skirt and plain t shirt so I can go to the bathroom easily. For your little one, pack 2 different types of outfits. One for hot and one for cold. You never know the weather. And pack receiving blankets just in case.

I've only packed 1 outfit for myself, plus a nightie, as I plan to give birth in a birth centre where they only keep you in for a maximum of 4 hours after birth. If there are any complications, you are transported to hospital and if this is the case, in this time, either my mom or partner will run home and grab me more for however long I need. However visiting times in out hospital mean I can't have anyone with me between 10pm and 10am so if I end up staying, I can just get somebody to bring me back extra needed clothes when they revisit :)
