How many bottles do I need?

Question

Sorry for the silly question, but FTM and I have no idea. The plan is to go back and forth between breast and bottle feeding as I will be returning to work. I have different brands of bottles and different sizes, but I don't know how long they use each size, etc. I received a lot for my shower and wondering if I should return some? Thank you in advance!

I got six 4oz bottles and five 8-10oz bottles. I also get an extra pack or two of nipples of each flow speed- slow, medium, and fast.

I'm also a FTM so I'm not exactly sure on amounts you will need BUT I would suggest not returning any of since you received alot because the chances of you misplacing some are very high! Lol and if you've ever find an old bottle with formula or BM still in it then you will just throw it away! Plus if you ever send some with the baby if family is watching him/her you don't always get those back either! So I'd say since you already have them I'd definitely keep what you have!

I got nine 5oz and nine 10oz. I prob could've made 6 of each work, but I'm an over-planner.

I always had a ton of bottles with my other kids. But I only used the uber cheap bottles that gerber and walmart make, so I could toss them in the trash if I ever found a foul bottle that got misplaced or forgotten about. I hate doing dishes too, so I liked having enough so I wasn't washing them every day. I think I had around a dozen-ish. Plus like someone else said, sometimes you'll forget them at a relatives house or they'll keep one.... In my experience, my bottle stash would always dwindle down to a few, and I would eventually have to buy more.

With my current, I haven't bought any cheap bottles, so I plan to be more cautious and take care of these bottles. I don't want to throw away any of them. I mostly have Avent bottles this time. They're not the most expensive, but they're also not the cheapest. I don't have money to throw away, so I'm going to try not to lose them or let them get gross.
