No bath for baby.

Isabel • First time parents expecting our little princess on June 2016
Hi ladies,
I thought that I'd share this with you all. I go to a centering class and a few ladies in my class are second time mommies. They advised to not have the hospital give the baby a bath after delivery and to even wait until you are home to do it yourself. My reaction at first was, "Uhm, gross", which seems natural since I keep picturing all the blood. But, our midwife mentioned that babies are actually born pretty clean because they are surrounded by fluids while in our bellies. The benefits of not having them bathed is this thing called vernix which should stay on for some hours. They can wipe down baby but not give them an actual bath. I thought that this was a helpful input and wanted to share with you all!
Good luck to everyone! ☺️
