Opinions on my break up please

6 years together, 2 years engaged and we were weeks away from settlement on a house. He was acting very distant and I finally got it out of him, he has been upset about an abortion we had 5 years ago and just couldn't get past it. He said he has tried to move on from it but can't. He was a sobbing mess and really upset. About two weeks later I find out he's on tinder. I ask him about it and he says he doesn't care about anything anymore, he hates himself because of the abortion.Yes I know how this looks (he broke things off to be single, but I truly don't believe that is the case). I mean it might be but I know him and I think he's going through stuff. I want him to realize this is all a mistake but is there any way to come back from this? At this point we are taking our space and are broke up.
